Abstract: As an important direction of modern mining development, intelligent mining is gradually becoming an inevitable choice for the digital transformation of the mining industry and the only way for the development of mining enterprises. Intelligent mines achieve comprehensive digitalization, automation, and intelligent transformation of mining production processes by introducing advanced information technology, automation technology, and artificial intelligence, thereby improving the efficiency, safety, and sustainable development ability of mining production. Combined with the background of the current digital transformation of mining, this paper points out the importance and urgency of intelligent mine construction, and summarizes the main technical applications and achievements of intelligent mine construction through the research on the construction and development status of intelligent mines at home and abroad. Then, focusing on the North Open-pit Coal Mine of as the research object, the basic situation and construction plan of the North Open-pit Coal Mine are introduced, and the progress of the intelligent construction of the North Open-pit Coal Mine is expounded with four aspects: mine infrastructure, production system, safety system and low-carbon mine. The North open-pit coal mine takes “low-carbon, clean and intelligent” as the development direction of mine transformation, takes smart mine, safe mine and low-carbon mine as the development goal, and empower the high-quality development of mine by digitization and intelligence, provides the intelligent mine construction scheme for the open-pit coal mine, and provides reference and reference for promoting the sustainable development of China’s mining industry.
