Abstract: Based on manifold method invented by Mr Shi Genhua in 1990s and in combination with the theory of geometric nonlinear analysis,the geometric nonlinear manifold method for analysing discontinuous large deformation has been developed.This method has solved the problem of forming the networks and the covering system which are crucial in manifold method.Practical application of the geometric nonlinear manifold method has achieved good effects.
