Abstract: Taking Xiaoguanling Iron Ore Mine as example,crucial issues about how to control the deformation of preparatory workings surrounded by soft and fractured rock under high stress are discussed.The fechnique of reinforced combined support using shotcrete and bolting wire mesh is introduced which has been tested in the site as successful,This support technique is worth an example to be taken by other mines where the conditions are similar like those of Xiaoguanling Iron Ore Mine.
