Abstract
The iron grade of an extra large hematite-limonite ore in Africa is 52.73%.Iron mainly exists in the form of hematite and limonite, and the distribution rate of iron in hematite-limonite is 90.06%.The main useful minerals are hematite and gangue minerals are clay, quartz, pyroxene and bauxite. In order to provide basis for the determination of mineral processing flow, the process mineralogy of HGH ore is studied. The ore structure is mainly massive structure and layering structure. The ore structure is mainly porphyry structure, granular structure, acicular structure, vein structure and inclusion structure.Hematite, limonite and iron-bearing clay processes have fine disseminated particle size distribution, with the distribution rates of 79.26%, 62.93% and 58.42% at -0.07 mm, respectively. Some fine gangue minerals are often encapsulated in the limonite grains, and the inclusion particles with a diameter of less than 30 micron account for 70%.This part of limonite is not conducive to the dissociation of limonite monomer because of its close relationship with gangue.Through the study of process mineralogy of HGH ore, it can be seen that the sample belongs to a more difficult ore.Using physical beneficiation, the recovery should be between 75% and 80%, and the concentrate grade is difficult to exceed 64%.
