Abstract
As China’s energy and environmental issues become more prominent, how to balance economic growth and sustainable development has become an urgent problem for China’s development.Energy environment efficiency is an important research indicator of this problem. This paper uses EBM model to measure the energy environment efficiency of 60 cities in China in 2015.The following conclusions are drawn:cities with higher levels of economic development are more likely to have higher efficiency; there are obvious differences in the efficiency of cities in China, and there is an imbalance in urban development; energy and environmental efficiency in first-tier cities higher, the efficiency of second-tier cities is generally not high, the efficiency of third-tier cities is generally lower, and the efficiency differences of fourth- and fifth-tier cities are relatively large. Most resource-based cities are fourth- and fifth-tier cities.Different energy endowments, leading industries, scientific research capabilities, environmental conditions, and various measures taken to protect the environment of cities will have an impact on the city’s energy and environmental efficiency.
