Seismic exploration: a good helper for shale gas resource evaluation

With the growth of energy demand, shale gas occupies a pivotal position as an important new energy resource.However, at present, the exploration and development of shale gas in China is basically at the stage of resource evaluation, favourable area selection and early development, and the technical methods are not yet mature.Seismic exploration is a very effective exploration method, which can obtain high accuracy and high definition geological information without destroying the geological structure at a low cost, and increasing the exploration success rate.In shale gas resource evaluation, seismic exploration technology has mature applications in shale gas reservoir interpretation, shale “Sweet Area” prediction, shale gas-bearing capacity.and shale target layer fracture prediction.With the continuous progress of seismic exploration, it will play a more important role in the evaluation and development of shale gas resources.
