Abstract: First Quantum Minerals Ltd.is a leading global mining company, and is still at a rapid growth.In the past 30 years, it has grown from a junior exploration company to a leading copper producer in the world.Compared with those mining giants with a long history, its development experiences are of great reference value to the lately established mining enterprises in China.The authors take the development history of First Quantum Minerals Ltd.as a case study, discuss its management characteristics, team building, and the key turning point in the company's development, and explore the deep reasons behind its rapid growth and rise.The authors summarize four enlightenments that are the important referential value to Chinese mining enterprises:adhering to the company's business philosophy can scatter external risks and accumulate their own experience to the maximum extent; accurately positioning the company and adopting the development strategy which is suitable to its own situation; developing a global business market will allow mining companies to share downstream risks while obtaining high-quality resources; strengthening the soft power of talents to guarantee the development and transformation of the company.
