Abstract: The high efficient utilization of sludge was the focus on sludge disposal.After analyzing the source, characteristics and chemical compositions of different sludges, the research status of non-burning, sintering and inflated ceramsite was summarizedin proper order.The process of non-burning ceramsite preparation and magnetic modification application were clearlyexpounded, especially focusing on the preparation and process factors of roasting sludge ceramsite.It pointed out that the key to control the quality of ceramsite was the combination of sludge formula and roasting process.The sludge ceramsite was introduced in water treatment materials, building materials and sound absorbing materials.The application in other fields shows that its effectiveness and economic benefits is remarkable, and it is worth strengthening and expanding.
