Abstract:
The construction industry is the main steel consumption field in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.Based on dynamic material flow analysis, this study measured the stock of steel in housing construction in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region from 1949 to 2016.On this basis, the factors behind the changes in steel stocks were initially explored. The results show:in 2016, the stock of steel in Beijing’s housing construction was 52.9 Mt, Tianjin is 46.3 Mt, and Hebei province is 142.8 Mt.In terms of per capita steel stock in housing construction. In 2016, Tianjin was 2 961.8 kg/per, while Beijing residents was 2 434 kg/per, and Hebei province was only 1 911.8kg/per.From 2000 to 2016, the economy was the biggest factor contributing to the increase in steel stocks in housing construction in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, followed by population factors. The driving efficiency of steel service efficiency factors is increasing for the increase of steel stock in housing construction in Hebei province, while the driving strength for Beijing and Tianjin is weakening.
