Abstract: Rhenium is a very important critical mineral resources, widely used in high-technology field, and is playing an irreplaceable role in aerospace field.At present, the degree of dependence on foreign rhenium in China has been above 50%.The shortage of rhenium resources in our nation will probably threaten national resources security and influence the national development strategy.Based on the analysis of the strategic position and the demand of rhenium resources in industrialization development in the future, the distribution characteristics of global rhenium resources is analyzed from seven aspects includes the geography and geology distribution characteristic, reserve distribution characteristic, the degree of exploration and development, the industrialization degree, the mining investment environment and the distribution characteristic of China's rhenium resources.The development and utilization status of global rhenium resources are discussed from six aspects includes exploration status, production structure of mine rhenium, trade pattern, price trend and resources ensuring extent.This paper points out six enlightenments from the view of the national development strategy, the security supply of rhenium resources and the global trend of rhenium resources allocation.
