Abstract: The remarkable achievement in the cores and samples management has been made for twenty years in China, so that the cores and samples management has entered a new development stage of enhanced management.However, facing the new situation, new tasks and new requirements, there are still some prominent problems and deficiencies in the cores and samples management, including few regulations and technical standards, imperfect management mechanism, and poor services etc.As for promoting better cores and samples management in China, this paper has also given its own opinions:improving regulations and technology standard, establishing geological data storage system, perfecting management system, promoting informatization construction, strengthening service utilization research, and accelerating the warehouse facilities equipment construction et al.It is expected that this paper could provide some reference for the future cores and samples management.
