Abstract:
More than 95% of the products are tailings in the process of gold mine beneficiation. The prerequisite for the comprehensive utilization of gold tailings is detailly ascertaining the properties and characteristics of its tailings. The chemical composition and radionuclide limits of the gold tailing obtained from Jiangxi province are determined by chemical analysis, ICP and gamma ray spectrometer. The resource properties and mineralogical characteristics of the gold tailings are studied by mineralogical identification, EMPA and EDS analysis, and its comprehensive utilization prospect is analyzed. The results show that the gold tailings contain 0.495 g/t of gold and 1.70 g/t of silver, and 58.18% of the gold is inclusion gold together with iron and other oxide minerals. No residual gold particles are found under the microscope. There are 62.21% SiO
2 and 13.54% Al
2O
3 in the gold tailings, and quartz, sericite and calcite are the main minerals, among which sericite has recovery value. The gold tailing can be used to produce building materials owning to the qualified radionuclide limit. As sieve analysis -0.074 mm to the sample accounted for 41.58%, the monomer dissociation degree of the residual gold-bearing minerals is not high, which may be caused by the distribution of gold in heavy minerals or metal minerals. Therefore, there is still some potential for gold extraction. In order to obtain the qualified product of the sericite, it is necessary to strengthen the classification and the dispersion due to its flake diameter of 0.01-0.20 mm.
