Abstract:
Rock mass classification has important guiding significance for all kinds of engineering design, and its classification index mainly depends on the division of uniaxial compressive strength.Through the point load strength test, the uniaxial compressive strength of rock can be quickly determined in the engineering site. This method is simple and reliable, and has been widely used since its popularization. Therefore, it is necessary to study the correlation between the two methods.Based on the engineering background of a limestone open pit mine in Sichuan province, through the point load strength test and uniaxial compressive strength test, this paper explores the correlation between the axial and radial point load strength and uniaxial compressive strength, and establishes the conversion relationship between them. The results show that there is a strong correlation between the point load strength and uniaxial compressive strength obtained by axial and radial loading, and the correlation of the calculation formula obtained by exponential function fitting is high, and the application effect is good.
