Abstract:
The surplus value created by the energy industry is called net energy.Net energy is the remaining energy after total energy output excludes the various input, the net energy is the real energy used by the economy and society.Based on the official national input-output table and the extended input-output table released from 1987 to 2017, this paper obtains all kinds of direct energy inputs and indirect energy inputs of China’s energy industry through the model of embodied energy, to further analyze the energy input-output situation in the process of energy production in China. The results show that in 1987, the 1 tce energy consumed by China’s energy industry could supply 4.62 tce of net energy output for the economic system; in 2017, this ratio drops to 2.14 tce, indicating that energy production efficiency of China’s energy industry continues to decline.Based on this result, it is suggested to comprehensive evaluation when planning energy projects, give priority to projects with large net energy output and high production efficiency, and improve the input-output ratio of energy production and reduce the production cost of energy sectors.
