Abstract: As a stateless currency, gold plays an important role in the global monetary system and even the financial system.Gold supply is related to the financial security and economic security of a country.China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of gold, but the gap between supply and demand has always existed and is expected to continue to widen until 2035.In order to ensure national economic security and promote RMB internationalization, it is necessary to actively distribute overseas gold resources.The article draws on the successful experience of China’s mining companies in “going out”, and locks overseas investment areas in the overlap areas of the resource-rich areas, active exploration areas, and production concentrated areas of global gold mines.Then, the evaluation index system of foreign investment location of gold mine is constructed from six dimensions of resource endowment, economic factor, political risk, infrastructure, business environment and trade with China.The index weight is determined objectively by entropy weight method and the comprehensive score of investment location is evaluated.According to the evaluation results, Latin America, Central Asia, Indonesia and other countries are listed as the first-level investment area, and west Africa greenstone belt countries, South Africa, Tanzania and other countries are listed as the second-level investment area.Canada, Australia and Russia are listed as three-level investment areas.The research results obtained in the article are reasonable and can provide references for Chinese mining companies to invest in gold mines overseas.
