Abstract: In 2011, the concept of new technology minerals is put forward for the first time and has been gradually recognized by the industry since.In 2018, it is proposed that the mining industry is stepping into the era of divergence, during which the new technology minerals industry will welcome great development opportunities, and the theory has received considerable attention.At present, the human society is transitioning from the silicon age to the carbon age.Energy revolution, life sciences, information technology and new materials have brought about major adjustments in the demand for mineral products, and the new technology minerals industry has entered a long-term growth channel.Mining enterprises, in the face of new development opportunities and on the premise of respecting mining industry’s development laws, need to improve their cross-cycle adjustment ability, uphold the strategies, highlight development at the core and put more emphasis on scientific and technological innovation.The mining enterprises need to strengthen the new technology minerals resources and industrial layout, and strive to build independent and controllable industrial chain and supply chain, taking on its due mission and responsibility in ensuring national resource security.
