Abstract: In the new era, geological survey work is advancing with the times, focusing on the major needs of national economic and social development, and striving to achieve "three strategic changes" in terms of service direction, guiding theory, and development motivation. Starting from the positioning and development of new trends in geological work in the new era, based on the theory of earth system science, this article analyzes rural development and governance practices at home and abroad, and based on geological survey support services for poverty alleviation, and proposes a new era of geological survey work to support rural revitalization. The strategic working ideas and scientific paths promote the optimization of the new pattern of rural development and the overall revitalization of my country’s rural areas, and contribute geological wisdom and strength to the timely realization of the rural revitalization goals.
