Abstract:
The precious metal minerals in Guangxi are mainly gold, silver and platinum, with relatively rich resources. There are 283 gold mineral deposits discovered in Guangxi with 621.015 39 t of cumulative identified resources, 184 silver mineral deposits with 23 347.64 t of cumulative identified resources, and one associated platinum mineral deposit with 6.667 t of associated identified resources. The deposit types are complex and diverse. The independent gold deposits are dominated by epigenetic medium-low temperature hydrothermal type, followed by magmatic hydrothermal type and continental volcanic type. Silver deposits are mainly associated deposits, often associated with lead, zinc and gold. Platinum is mainly produced in micro-fine disseminated gold deposits. In terms of the metallogenic age, the gold and silver deposits have the characteristics of multiple metallogenic stages, long time span, and concentrated mineralization, with the Yanshan Stage being the most important, forming the main large and medium gold and silver deposits in Guangxi. In terms of spatial distribution, the gold and silver deposits are characterized by regional concentrated distribution and are obviously controlled by regional structures and magmatic rocks. They are usually controlled by regional faults/folds or the inner and outer contact zones between rock mass and surrounding rock and developed into clusters or belts. The Cambrian and Triassic are the main ore-bearing layers. By analyzing the region geological mineralization conditions and resource potential of the precious metals of Guangxi, 13 gold metallogenic prospective areas and 8 silver metallogenic prospective areas have been circled, with 1 033 t and 77 655 t predicted resources, respectively, indicating that there is still a large prospecting potential for gold and silver. There is high background value of platinum and favorable metallogenic conditions in Guangxi, the evaluation of the basic-ultrabasic rocks and micro-fine disseminated gold species should be paid to attention, as well as to the search for new types of platinum deposits, such as platinum deposits related to black rock series.
