Abstract: China has always attached great importance to the construction of science popularization capabilities, and has incorporated science popularization work into the scope of overall social civilization construction. At present, the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation is at a historical juncture of achieving major breakthroughs, and the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough strategic action has entered the stage of comprehensive implementation. It is an important task for science popularization work to firmly grasp the development opportunities of science popularization work to create a good social atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation. The current development status of science popularization work in China is elaborated from four aspects: policy support, funding and infrastructure construction, development of science popularization personnel team, and dissemination channels, and introduces the current situation of geological science popularization work. The implementation of science popularization work is of great significance for promoting the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough strategic action, mainly including the promotion of public awareness of the importance of mineral resources, the promotion of scientific and technological innovation and progress in mineral exploration technology, and the strengthening of ecological civilization construction. For the implementation of science popularization work in the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough strategic action, this paper proposes specific measures: strengthening top-level design and scientific and systematic planning; focusing on key areas and seize critical periods; coordinating popular science resources and designing products in a layered manner; innovating forms of science popularization and improving the efficiency of science popularization; building a science popularization team and expanding the scope of dissemination; cultivating the science popularization industry and promoting integrated development. Through this study, aim to provide an idea for the implementation of science popularization work in the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough strategic action.
