Abstract: In recent years, the landscape design rises as a thought in the country, the following works, appear in lots of large and small cities to provide for recreation, and also have certain cultural connotations. The landscape design which is often adopted in the geological environment control of abandoned opencast mines has become a great trend. In this paper, by the case analysis of the demonstration project of the geological environment control of abandoned opencast mines, we summarize some methods, such as the culture of the introduction, integration and transformation, occasional renovation, retention and development and so on. Only an objective assessment of mining activities in the status of urban development, attention to the value of mining heritage resources in tourism development, a correct understanding of the role of landscape design in the mine geological environment control, the landscape design could be in the best application in the geological environment control of abandoned opencast mines.
