Abstract: Mining is an important basic industry in our country,it has a significant impact on the whole sustained, steady and coordinated development. However, due to the special nature of mining development, itresults in some mining city accumulated historical issues and deep-seated problems during their long developing period, for which the state has adopted a series of supportive policies. The article combines the policies about promoting the sustainable development of mineral resource-based regions, evaluats the transformation effect of resource-exhausted cities scientifically and brings some unresolved problems and relevant policy suggestions.
