Abstract:
Copper slag is regarded as invaluable metallurgical secondary resource and has very high collection value due to content of metallic elements,including high proportion of iron and copper.This paper discusses current situation of comprehensive utilization of copper slag and puts forward the supposition of separating copper and iron from copper slag by chlorination.The samples are prepared at the FeO:Cu
2O:CaCl
2 ratio 9:1:0.8 (grams) by mixing evenly and the roasting reaction is conducted at various temperatures 1123K、1173K、1223K and 1273K,using nitrogen as protection gas of 60ml/min,after four hours' roasting at 1273K,the volatilization of copper reaches over 60% in FeO-Cu
2O system.Thus effective separation of copper and iron is obtained,and it provides a new train of thoughts for the comprehensive utilization of copper slag.
