Abstract: Compared with conventional gas in gradient,Coal bed methane is an unconventional natural gas occurred in coal seam without difference,and important complementarities to conventional gas.There is 22.5×10¹²m³ coal bed methane resource buried shallower than 2000m in china.The people cognized that coal bed methane has a good utilization in mine safety,environment protection and cleat fuel and paid more attention.In many place,coal bed methane exploring activities have spread out rapidly and a large amount of resource have been proved.All of these showed that coal bed methane had a potential productivity.Coal bed methane Exploitation and utilization in some areas will play two important roles.In 2020 the gap between consume and supply will enlarged around 8 and 22 trillion cubic meter,and a new coal bed methane industry which fill up the shortage will emerge.
