Abstract: Jianghan Salt Basin is a unique high-salinity inland salt lake basin in our country.Based on the lithology,rhythm and sedimentary system of the deposits,the sedimentary setting,hydraulic medium,sedimentation and sedimentary model are discussed,and the sedimentary characteristics of the Jianghan salt lake are concluded.This study suggests that the Jianghan salt lake is a series of salt strata deposits resulted from the northern unilateral clastic source and supplies of brine and salt sources along the basin margin,in an high-salinity,violent-evaporation,reduction to high reduction water under a frequently arid-humid alternation climate.It is a salt lake sedimentary system consisted of clastic rock,carbonate rock and evaporite rock.
