In order to provide a scientific evidence for quartz sand processed in glass industry in Huangdan, Muchuan County of Sichuan, based on the characteristics that harmful impurities Fe
2O
3 mainly occurred in ore as pyrite fine particles, flotation of iron purification experiments were conducted on a variety of flotation plans. The results show that the anti-flotation of iron purification method used in collector (ethyl xanthate:butyl xanthate=4:1) could achieve a significant effect on the comprehensive purification.
