Abstract: Anshan Iron & Steel Co.′s West Tailings Pile had closed in 1990.There are 18\^7 Mt iron flotation tailings and 5\^409Mt mix of gas mud and fine coal ash in the Tailings Pile.This paper describes the formation and status quo of the Pile,analyses the comprehensive recovery and utilization of the tailings,gas mud and coal ash.Author believes that recovering them by different separation technologies is feasible.And so,the environmental pollution can be eliminated and considerable benefits can be gained.
