Abstract: This paper classifies the slurry flow into pseudo-homogenous flow and heterogeneous folw, and studies the characters of their water-hammer, respectively. The formula to calculate acoustic wave speed and max-pressure of water hammers is derived, and it is pointed that this mathematical model can be applied into practical engineering design.
