Abstract: On the basis of geological documentation in China Geological Library(CGL),this paper summarizedthe important roles of international exchange on the aggregation of data resource,reduction of expenditure and promotion of data sharing.The international exchange of the geological documentation is a professional and political work,and has higher requires for the staff members.Now,the existing problems of the international exchange in CGL are of the limited connection and exchange with other library.Some suggestions have been proposed for the improvement and development of international exchange in CGL including adjusting the working thought,changing the exchange approach,establishing themanagement system and developing socialized service.
