Abstract: The evaluation of the non-use value of ecological environment in coal mining area is one of the important parts of the ecological compensation. With the improving in pre-survey, questionnaire and tender design, the contingent valuation method (CVM) was used to evaluate the non-use value of ecological environment in case study mining area, which located in Jiuli district, Xuzhou city. The results show that informants demand compensation, the average willingness to accept is at a price of 1371.6 yuan/year ever informant, moreover, the willingness is affected by many factors, such as feeling and income. This empirical research can be a reference for policy and standard design of ecological compensation in mining area.
