Abstract:
This paper quantitatively analyzes absolute difference, relative difference and overall difference based on GDP, population and per GDP of four coals resources-based cities (Jixi,Hegang,Shuangyashan and Qitaihe) in Heilongjiang province in China. The absolute difference, the relative difference and the overall difference are respectively measured by standard deviation, variation coefficient and Gini coefficient. It is concluded that Gini coefficient is below 0.2 from 1990 to 1993 and is between 0.2 and 0.3 from 1994 to 2004. The economic development difference of four coals resources-based cities became larger before 2000 and smaller after 2000.
