Abstract: Gejiu city is a typical mining city, and now experiencing a process of resources exhausting. The key to respond to the crisis of ‘mine depletion and city decline' is adjusting the existing industrial structure, cultivating and developing alternative industries before using-up of the main mine resources. In this paper, I analyze the recent development of industrial structure of Gejiu city, and propose the countermeasures on the adjustment of industrial structure and the transformation of economy for the sustainable development of Gejiu city.
