Abstract: The signet stones are the nonmetallic materials with Chinese traditional characters and divided into many types on the base of minerals,such as pyrophyllite,dickite,sericite,hydromica,kaolinite,quartz and calcite et al..Their economic value is determined by the color,mineral's composition and transparency.The continental intermediate acid volcanic rocks altered are the main resources of the signet stones.The methods of the exploitation of the signet resources are the ones on the base of the qualities of the stones themselves and the famous persons who used or sculpted the signets.
