Abstract:
A new method is presented to evaluate mineral flotation characters of flotability and flotation rate comprehensively, which is based on membership and membership function of fuzzy math, using batch flotation tests. In this way, mineral flotation character is quantized. Applying on new method, flotation characters of Huize galena, sphalerite and pyrite was studied with pulp pH 7.5, kaium ethyl xanthate concentration 2.0×10
-4 mol/L and zinc sulfate concentration 1.5×10
-4 mol/L. The results showed that flotability of galena was better than pyrite, and pyrite was much better than sphalerite. This is consistent with results of flotation industrial practice.
