Abstract: Due to insufficient maintenance and intensive mining operation,the slope of an open pit mine becomes unstable with serious danger potential to normal operation of the mine and to safety of people's life.To find out thoroughly the reasons of slope's unstability,earth stress has been measured at slope by means of technique of temperature compensation and automatic recording.
