Abstract: The coalbed methane resource is abundant in the Sichuan province(3480×10⁸m³), so it shows a good potential for exploitation. Lack of technology and fund, Sichuan is dropped behind on coalbed methane exploitation and utilization in the china. At present the drainage of mining gas is dominant and the ground borehole of coalbed methane is in the stage of exploration. Coalbed methane resources investigation and appraisal should be carried out in the preliminary coal field, the drainage of small spacing pattern should be built and the investment should be improved for the drainage of mining gas.
