Abstract: Implementation of environmental impact assessment of mineral resources planning is an important measure of source control, which can effectively prevent and reduce the environmental impact from mineral resources development. According to the classification system and key content of China's mineral resources planning, we deduced environmental impact assessment of mineral resources planning was a systematic project, and obtained environmental impact assessment of provincial mineral resources planning playing an important connecting role for the classification system. It mainly focused on these contents, such as analyzing its harmony of other planning, determining the rationality of exploration and development layout, predicting environmental problems of mineral resources exploration and development, estimating its feasibility of environmental protection measures. Furthermore, combined with the objective and contents of provincial mineral resources planning, we summarized the environmental impact assessment principles and specific requirements of provincial mineral resources planning. Those results provide an instruction for carry out the third round environmental impact assessment of provincial mineral resources planning.
