Abstract: Ngari, locate in the western Tibet, has abundant mierral resources. Mineral resources are substantial foundation for Ngari's sustainable development in economics and society. Where as the program for mineral resources is the main measures to carry out the basic state policies of population, resources and environment in China. According to Ngari's characteristics, the author points out the investigation and evaluation, exploration, development and utilization and protection of mineral resources in Ngari should be given and overall consideration. At the same time. The law. economic and technical means should be applied to control the total development quantity of resources, optimize thd utilization structure and spatial disibution of resources, and strengthen ecosystem environmental protection. In the end, the sustainable development of resources, geological and economics in society could be realized.
