Abstract: At present,with the development of national economy and the major shift of international environment,all industries into the adjustment phase,how to adapt to the new situation has become the focus of the geological prospecting work in current.This paper,from the point of view of achieving prospecting breakthrough under the new normal,analyzes geological prospecting work requirements under economic development of the new normal,reviews the challenges facing the prospecting breakthrough in current,and draw some problems which restrict the prospecting breakthrough in the process of implementation,such as decreasing significantly of the mineral exploration investment,insufficient of market opening,pressure of ecological and environmental protection,insufficient of guidance in innovation for science and technology to the prospecting,improvement of the project management and quality supervision.In order to meet the needs of country's mineral resources security,puts forward several proposals on stable investment,deepening the reform of institutional mechanisms,promoting the construction of ecological civilization,strengthening scientific and technological innovation,attention to personnel training and quality management.
