Abstract:
Through subsidence and stress characteristics study of fine oolitic hematite and quartz particles in different force field, dispersion-selective flocculation was regarded as effective separation way for fine particles. Influences of dispersion type, pH, stirring speed on the dispersion before selective flocculation of fine hematite particle were investigated by sedimentation experiments. The results shows that three kinds of dispersion agents in the same concentration, the order of fine hematite and quartz dispersion was sodium hexametaphosphate > sodium pyrophosphate > sodium carbonate. The dispersion mechanism of sodium hexametaphosphate on the fine hematite minerals was confirmed by measurements of zeta potentials and DLVO theory.
