Abstract: A new adsorbent modified meerschaum was obtained while meerschaum was burned in 450℃ after treated by hydrochloric acid solution.This sorbent was used to adsorb heavy metals(Zn²⁺) ions,the effect of PH value of solution, initial concentration of heavy metal cations,time of adsorption on adsorption reaction were investigated respectively.
