Abstract: Exploitation of global offshore oil and gas shows fast growth since 1990s,and petroleum reserves and production from global offshore continually have been increasing in recent decade.Especially,Deep-water petroleum exploitation expands so rapid that it has already become new focus of world oil industry.Starting analysis of potential of petroleum resources,the paper introduces in detail the status of global offshore petroleum exploration and development,and sums up successful experiences of international offshore exploitation,and probes its developing trend in next decades.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to improve China's offshore oil and gas industry.
