Abstract: In China,it is very important to research and develop the skarn copper deposits.The main contents of this paper include the genesis and deposit characteristics of skarn copper deposits,the process mineralogy characteristics of complex skarn copper ore and flotation technology of complex skarn copper ore.The paper points out that the research of interrelationship between the theory of ore deposit and the theory of mineral processing should be strengthened,especially the combination of the physical and chemical characteristics of ore deposit and flotation theory,which has important macroscopic guiding significance for flotation process.Compared with other types of copper deposits,skarn copper deposits are characterized by poor continuity,complex mineral composition,impurity elements and the fine grained disseminated structure,and gangue minerals have a greater influence on flotation.Therefore,skarn copper ore is relatively difficult to flotation separation.For the complex skarn copper deposit,the priority of flotation study should be given to the development of grinding circuit,the separation of copper and sulfur,as well as the separation of copper and hydrophobic gangue,etc.
