Abstract: Mining practice of fully mechanized top coal caving in ultra thick seam of Tashan mine has been completed in 5 coal mining faces, through constantly explore in the practice, a few big problems were solved basically, such as large section soft broken coal gateway support, control of end face broken top coal, prevention and governance on support crushed in coal mining face ,and support suitability etc. Mining practice shows that adopting fully mechanized top coal caving technology is successful in ultra thick seam of Tashan mine. Development in the future is prospected on fully mechanized top coal caving mining in ultra thick seam of Tashan mine.
