Abstract: Based on GIS and the model of multiclass fuzzy pattern recognition,the spatial database in Haicheng county and geoenvironmental quality assessment model are established.By considering such factors as terrain slope,engineering geological rock groups,structural type of rock and soil mass,ground water level,vegetation growth conditions,monthly precipitation,intensity of human engineering activities,the geoenvironmental quality in Haicheng county is assessed comprehensively with the assessment mode1.The geoenvironment quality is classified into four classes:best,good,moderate,and worst.The assessment result can provide rational plan and referenee basis for the prevention and control Of geological hazards and the protection of ecological geoenvironment.
