Abstract: Due to inperfect measuring and monitoring system and inexact awareness of earth pressure,the supports of stopes and gangways are sometimes not correct that causes breakage of stopes and gangways.To decrease or avoid the loss brought by breakage of stopes and gangways,effective measures must be taken on the basis of clear understanding of pre-phenomena indicating impending breakage,correct analysing of reasons and mechanism for occurrence of these phenomena.
