Abstract: Oil and gas geological data management outsoucing is an effective way to solve the problems,which oil companies are facing at present,such as the geological data warehouse volume reducing,the professional management requirements rising,and so on.Based on studying the development of data management outsourcing market both at home and abroad,as well as the outsourcing practice of major domestic oil companies,the authors list four outsourcing types,including cataloging,digitizing,storage and management informatization,and two outsoucing forms,including residing in or departing from oil companies.In the implementation of outsourcing,there are a range of risks like wrong outsourcing scope,difficult choosing of high-quality service providers,geological data entities damaging or losing,and content leaking.Several methods are givien to prevent these risks,including establishing a risk prevention and control mechanism,conducting a detailed market research to select high-quality service provider,detailing the contract terms and supervising the whole process of outsourcing.
