Abstract: By testing methods of polarized light microscopy,XRD,chemical analysis and scanning electron microscopy,the paper research the characteristics of the kaolin mine from Kazakhstan.The results showed that the main mineral compositions of the mine were kaolinite,quartz and mica(hydration muscovite).Kaolinite had a high crystallinity and mainly enriched in the fine fraction.The kaolinite was loose between kaolinite laminations and had more sheets.It had a high washingrate,the washingrate of-5μm and -2μm reached 29.06% and 18.33%,respectively.Only after grading,the product of -20μm met the requirement of standard Level 2or above in industries,such as rubber,plastics,enamel,ceramics and coatings.The overall quality of the mine was high,it could be applied in paper industry after purify.
