Abstract: For a refractory andalusite mine in Jiuquan carried out the comparative test of grinding fineness between ball mill and rod mill、desliming size and carried out the comparative test between alkaline medium flotation process and acid medium flotation process.The results showed that rod mill grinding is suitable for this andalusite mine,the better grinding fineness was －0.074mm accounted for 85.19%,the better particle size of desliming was 20μm and the concentrate indicator of alkaline medium flotation process was better.Based on the definited alkaline medium flotation process,sample after grinding-desliming-magnetic separation- a roughing,eight concentration and a scavenging of the closed circuit process test,get the concentrate with the grade of Al₂O₃ 52.94%,the recovery of andalusite 54.10%,the content of andalusite 83.88%.
