Abstract: Based on analysing the shortcomings of traditional longwall caving,this paper presents a new stoping method-longwall caving with artificial bottom pillars.In this method,developed amount is decreased by 50%;labour in tensity is lightened;single adit development and single rise cutting are realized.Long term mining practice proved that the method is a good one for gentle inclined thin seam.
