Abstract: This paper presents the results on modification of illite fines of Fujian by applying of silane coupling agent. The authors study the surface activity of clay, modified temperature and time etc and their influence on modified effect of clay, and prepare a series of surface modified clay by use of different silane coupIing agents for natural rubber, synthetic rubber, RTV, HTV. This modified clay can meet the needs for practical use of reinforced rubber.
